A rare letter signed in High Dutch by the President T.F. Burgers, dated 18th March 1873. The correspondence from the Government office in Pretoria, advising a parliamentary member of the upcoming parliamentary session, that was due to take place on Monday, 19th of May 1873. In full (translated): ‘I have the honour of informing you that the ordinary annual session of the Honourable Volksraad will take place on Monday, 19 May 1873 at 10 o’clock in the morning in the Volksraad Hall in Pretoria, your honour being requested to attend on that day.’
